Lakewood

I had recently completed a loan search request on the internet and was matched with sseveralloan agencies and called a few days later. Lakewood financial sounded much like a prepaid or secured credit card. The interested rate quoted was 9.5%. The rep was familiar with my credit background unlike some of the other companies that called.

I spoke with a rep from the company and I was told that I would be required to pay the first 5 payments in advance. ($900 on a $5,000 loan) The first payment would be due in June. I was faxed a seven page loan document and I returned the required page.

I called my rep after returning the fax and I asked about the payment. The rep asked when I wanted to complete the payments. I stated within one week. He said to call back when I was prepared and he would “walk me through” the process.

Not exactly sure what the next step will be. I am to call back at the end of next week.

Has anyone heard of this company or had dealings with them? I would really **** to send them a lump sum of money and never hear from them (or my money) again.
